Director's Commentary Enter Dr. Doomday! I realised the other day that Anybody new to the series wouldn't have any idea what Dr. Doomday actually looks like, so maybe this looks like a dramatic introduction. Not entirely intentional. Dr. Doomday was one of the first characters I actually drew up when the Student Squad first fell onto the page. Doomday's lab was very nearly coloured in gun-metal-grey, but I decided that this looked dull, and didn't make sense. I always picture Doomday using slightly more retro kit, so therefore, a slightly more retro-60s-style-classy-cream was a little more appropriate. I don't know, maybe it's just me that thinks that some of the props in the lab wouldn't look out of place on the original Doctor Who sets.
