Director's
Commentary
My issues
with continuity started in this strip with the first panel originally
containing three pipes in the background as opposed to the established
two, and continued by through to my script referring to the mentioned,
but not-yet-seen nemesis, Redbar, as "Professor Redface".
It's not that I'm not paying attention, it's just that my attention
wanders. I'm not making this up as I go along, just getting distracted
occassionally. I spend most of my time at work correcting other
peoples mistakes and so when I get home, I sometimes neglect to
notice my own.
I actually
quite like this page. I think it has a nice layout and a decent
broken composition. I've recently been reading Scott McCloud's
"Understanding Comics" which is a fantastic graphic
novel (if that's even the right classification) but through his
theories, I can not for the life of me work out where my panel
to panel transitions fit in. Are they the Marvel-Kribry Action
to Action style, or are they more of a Manga Moment to Moment
style? I think one of my work colleagues summed it up nicely as
"Down to Earth", which I take to mean "not great,
but ok."
